Welcome to Creative Art Club! These policies are designed to help keep our classes safe, organized, and enjoyable for everyone. Please review them before enrolling your child. Creative Art Club is an independently owned and operated children's art and craft enrichment program. Classes and workshops are currently held at Creating Art Studio in Redmond, Washington. Creative Art Club is responsible for its own programs, enrollment, tuition, policies, instruction, and communication with participating families. Creative Art Club programs are independently offered and are not programs operated by Creating Art Studio.

1. Enrollment, Tuition & Disenrollment

Enrollment in Creative Art Club's ongoing classes is monthly and continues until the student is disenrolled in accordance with the policy below. Tuition: is based on the number of Creative Art Club class meetings scheduled each month. The standard four-class tuition is currently $160 for Creative Together and $175 for Creative Explorers. Tuition will be adjusted for months with more or fewer than four scheduled class meetings. Applicable sales tax will be added to tuition. For continuing students, tuition is automatically charged to the payment method on file on the first business day of each month for classes scheduled during that same month. New enrollments: At the time of enrollment, families will be charged the standard four-class tuition for the selected program. If fewer than four scheduled classes remain during the student's first month, the unused class value will be applied as a credit toward the following month's tuition. The following month's charge will be adjusted accordingly. This means families do not lose the value of classes simply because their child begins partway through a month. Enrollment reserves the student's place in the class. Tuition is based on scheduled classes and the student's enrollment rather than individual attendance. Disenrollment: To discontinue enrollment at the end of the current month, a parent/legal guardian must provide written notice by email on or before the 15th of that month. If notice is received after the 15th, the student's enrollment will continue through the end of the following month, and tuition for that month will remain due. The student may continue attending all scheduled classes through the end of the enrollment period. Tuition already paid for the student's enrollment period is nonrefundable. Choosing not to attend remaining classes does not create a credit, refund, or make-up class. Example: To end enrollment on October 31, notice must be received by October 15. If notice is received October 16 or later, enrollment will continue through November, and November tuition will be due.

2. Absences, Cancellations & Calendar

Creative Art Club understands that life happens and students may occasionally need to miss a class because of illness, travel, family commitments, or other circumstances. Because enrollment reserves a student's place in the class, make-up classes, credits, or refunds are not provided for student absences, regardless of the reason for the absence, including illness. Whenever possible, parents/legal guardians are encouraged to let Creative Art Club know when their child will be absent. If Creative Art Club cancels a scheduled class, reasonable efforts will be made to offer a make-up class when possible. If a make-up class cannot reasonably be offered, the value of the canceled class will be applied as a credit toward the student's next Creative Art Club tuition charge. If the canceled class occurs during a student's final month of enrollment, including June at the end of the regular class year, and there is no future tuition charge to which the credit can be applied, the value of the canceled class will be refunded if a make-up class cannot reasonably be offered. Creative Art Club generally follows the Lake Washington School District (LWSD) calendar for major holidays and school breaks. However, the Creative Art Club calendar provided to families determines the actual dates on which Creative Art Club classes are scheduled. For weather-related closures, Creative Art Club will generally follow LWSD closure decisions. If LWSD schools are closed because of severe weather or unsafe conditions, Creative Art Club classes will also be canceled unless families are notified otherwise. Delayed starts, early dismissals, and cancellations of after-school activities will be evaluated by Creative Art Club based on conditions. Classes may also be canceled or interrupted because of circumstances beyond Creative Art Club's reasonable control, such as power outages, building closures, government orders, hazardous conditions, or other emergencies. In these circumstances, a make-up class, credit, or refund is not guaranteed. Families will be notified of cancellations or schedule changes as soon as reasonably possible using the contact information provided to Creative Art Club.

3. Arrival, Pickup & Late Pickup

Parents/legal guardians are responsible for ensuring that students are safely dropped off and picked up on time. Students must be picked up by a parent/legal guardian or an authorized pickup person and may not leave the Studio independently. Parents/legal guardians must provide the names of individuals authorized to pick up their child. Creative Art Club may request identification from a pickup person who is not personally known to staff. If someone other than the child's parent/legal guardian arrives to pick up the student, Creative Art Club may contact the parent/legal guardian using the phone number provided at registration to confirm the pickup before releasing the child, even if the individual is already listed as an authorized pickup person. Parents/legal guardians are encouraged to notify Creative Art Club in advance whenever possible when someone else will be picking up their child. A 10-minute grace period is provided for late pickup. After the grace period, a late pickup fee of $10 for each additional 10-minute period or portion thereof may be charged.

4. Creative Together Caregiver Participation

Creative Together is a caregiver-and-child class. A parent, legal guardian, or other responsible adult must remain with the child for the entire class. Caregivers are encouraged to participate alongside their child and help support them as they explore materials, follow instructions, and complete activities at their own pace. The accompanying caregiver remains responsible for the child's supervision and behavior throughout the class. Creative Art Club staff provide instruction, guidance, and assistance but do not assume sole supervision of children participating in Creative Together. For everyone's safety, caregivers are expected to help their child follow classroom and safety instructions, particularly when projects involve tools or materials requiring closer supervision.

5. Classroom Safety, Behavior & Clothing

Creative Art Club provides hands-on art and craft experiences using a variety of materials, tools, and equipment appropriate to each project and age group. Students are expected to treat classmates, instructors, Studio property, tools, and materials with reasonable care and to follow classroom and safety instructions. Certain tools, equipment, or materials may only be used with instructor permission and supervision. Creative Art Club may modify an activity, restrict a student's use of a particular tool or material, or provide an alternative when reasonably necessary for safety. Creative Art Club understands that children may occasionally need reminders, redirection, breaks, or additional support. Staff will make reasonable efforts to help students participate successfully. If a student's behavior becomes unsafe, significantly disruptive, or prevents the class from continuing safely, Creative Art Club may contact the parent/legal guardian and, when necessary, require that the student be picked up early. For recurring concerns, Creative Art Club will communicate with the family and make reasonable efforts to identify helpful strategies. If significant safety or behavioral concerns continue despite those efforts, Creative Art Club may determine that the program is not currently an appropriate fit and may discontinue the student's enrollment. These decisions will be made thoughtfully and individually, considering the safety and well-being of the student, other participants, and staff. Creative activities can get messy! Students are encouraged to dress for mess and wear clothing and footwear appropriate for hands-on activities. Paint, ink, adhesives, clay, dyes, and other materials may stain or damage clothing, shoes, or belongings. Creative Art Club will take reasonable care but is not responsible for ordinary stains, spills, or damage resulting from participation. Unnecessary valuables are best left at home.

6. Health, Illness & Emergency Care

Parents/legal guardians are responsible for informing Creative Art Club of allergies, medical conditions, disabilities, sensitivities, or other needs relevant to their child's safe and successful participation and for keeping this information current. Creative Art Club welcomes children with a variety of needs and will make reasonable efforts to support each student's participation within the nature, staffing, and setting of the program. Families are encouraged to contact Creative Art Club before the child's first class when specific accommodations or additional support may be needed so appropriate arrangements can be discussed. Creative Art Club cannot provide medical care or individualized supervision beyond the scope of the program. If a child's needs cannot be safely supported within the class setting, Creative Art Club will discuss the situation with the parent/legal guardian to determine whether reasonable arrangements can be made. Creative Art Club does not routinely administer medications. Parents/legal guardians should contact Creative Art Club before their child's first class if the child requires access to emergency medication, such as an epinephrine auto-injector or rescue inhaler, so the child's needs and an appropriate emergency plan can be discussed. Illness: To help maintain a healthy environment for students, families, and staff, children should not attend class when they are actively ill or may be contagious. Parents/legal guardians are asked to keep children home when they have symptoms that could reasonably indicate a contagious illness, including fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other significant symptoms that could affect the health of others or the child's ability to comfortably participate. If a child becomes ill during class, Creative Art Club will contact the parent/legal guardian and may request that the child be picked up early. Classes missed because of illness are considered student absences and are not eligible for a make-up class, credit, or refund. First Aid & Emergencies: Creative Art Club staff may provide basic first aid for minor injuries or situations that occur during class. If a student becomes ill, is injured, or experiences another situation requiring parental attention, Creative Art Club will make reasonable efforts to contact the child's parent/legal guardian. If the parent/legal guardian cannot be reached, Creative Art Club may contact the student's designated emergency contact. In a serious or potentially serious medical emergency, Creative Art Club may contact 911 or emergency medical services without waiting for parent/legal guardian authorization when staff reasonably believe immediate assistance is necessary. By enrolling a child, the parent/legal guardian authorizes Creative Art Club to seek emergency medical assistance when reasonably necessary. The parent/legal guardian is responsible for costs associated with emergency medical care or transportation, except to the extent otherwise provided by applicable law. Creative Art Club staff are not medical professionals and cannot diagnose or provide medical treatment beyond basic first aid and reasonable emergency assistance.

7. Acknowledgment & Assumption of Risk

Creative Art Club activities involve hands-on art and craft projects and may involve ordinary risks associated with the materials, tools, equipment, and activities used in class. These may include minor cuts, scrapes, splinters, burns, skin irritation or allergic reactions, staining from art materials, and other accidental injuries that may occur during age-appropriate creative activities. Projects may involve materials and tools such as scissors, needles, adhesives, paints, clay, yarn, fabric, wood, hand tools, craft equipment, and other age-appropriate art and craft materials. Some activities may require closer instructor supervision or specific safety instructions. Creative Art Club will make reasonable efforts to select age-appropriate activities, provide appropriate instruction and supervision, and maintain a safe class environment. However, not all risks associated with hands-on creative activities can be completely eliminated. By enrolling a child, the parent/legal guardian acknowledges the nature of Creative Art Club activities, understands that participation involves certain inherent and ordinary risks, and voluntarily permits the child to participate. Parents/legal guardians are responsible for providing relevant information about allergies, sensitivities, medical conditions, or other needs that could affect safe participation and for keeping that information current.

8. Photography & Video

Creative Art Club may occasionally take photographs or short videos during classes, workshops, and special activities to document student projects and the Creative Art Club experience. These images or recordings may be used for Creative Art Club's website, social media, promotional materials, or other business-related communications. By enrolling, parents/legal guardians acknowledge that photographs or videos may be taken during Creative Art Club activities and authorize Creative Art Club to use photographs or videos in which their child may appear unless they choose to opt out. Parents/legal guardians who do not want their child to appear in identifiable photographs or videos may opt out at any time by emailing Creative Art Club at creative_artclub@outlook.com. Opting out will not affect the child's ability to participate. Once an opt-out request is received, Creative Art Club will make reasonable efforts to ensure that the child is not identifiable in photographs or videos subsequently used publicly. Creative Art Club will not publicly identify children by full name or share other personal information about a child in connection with photographs or videos without separate parent/legal guardian permission. To respect participating families' privacy, parents, caregivers, and students may take photographs or videos of their own child but may not publicly post or share images or recordings in which another Creative Art Club student is identifiable without permission from that child's parent/legal guardian.

9. Communication & Policy Updates

Email is Creative Art Club's primary method of official communication with enrolled families. Parents/legal guardians are responsible for providing a current email address and phone number and notifying Creative Art Club if their contact information changes. Creative Art Club may update these Policies & Agreements as the program develops or when changes are necessary for safety, operations, legal requirements, or other reasonable business purposes. Families will be notified of material changes by email and provided access to the updated Policies & Agreements. When appropriate, Creative Art Club may require a parent/legal guardian to electronically acknowledge and accept the updated Policies & Agreements before the student's continued participation. Minor administrative or operational changes that do not materially affect families' rights, responsibilities, fees, or participation may be communicated without requiring a new acknowledgment. Changes affecting tuition rates, fees, billing practices, or other significant financial obligations will be communicated to enrolled families in advance.

10. Parent/Guardian Acknowledgment

By enrolling a child in Creative Art Club and electronically accepting these Policies & Agreements, the parent/legal guardian confirms that they have been provided the opportunity to review and understand the policies applicable to the child's participation. The parent/legal guardian agrees to comply with the Creative Art Club Policies & Agreements and confirms that the information provided during registration is accurate and complete to the best of their knowledge. The parent/legal guardian is responsible for keeping Creative Art Club informed of changes to important registration information, including contact information, authorized pickup persons, allergies, medical information, or other information relevant to the child's safe participation. Electronic acceptance of these Policies & Agreements will be recorded as the parent/legal guardian's acknowledgment and agreement.
